  • Sunday 23 January 2022 HELP!!! This is anURGENT message from Mrs Macfarlane...
  • Thursday 20 January 2022 Around the UK and the World! This week the Year 2 children have completed their work as Geographers and travelling around the world looking at the continents and oceans and they Year 1 children have just begun a tour of the UK and made peg soldiers outside Buckingham Palace.
  • Tuesday 11 January 2022 Maths and Science There has been a buzz of activity in Glow Worm Class again this week. The Year 2 children have been investigating different musical instruments and perfecting their grouping skills in maths. As part of their Science topic, the Year 1 children have been planting potatoes and will be watching them grow through the different seasons. They have also been listening to different types of music.
  • Wednesday 5 January 2022 A Great Start It is only the first day back and already Glow Worms have been really busy.
  • Thursday 16 December 2021 Christmas! Here they are! The children did us proud in their performance. They were wonderful.
  • Tuesday 7 December 2021 Art and DT This week in Glow Worm class the Year 2 children have been finishing off their Georgia O'Keeffe pictures. They are on display and look beautiful. The children remembered to use bright, bold colours and used magnifying glasses to make their pictures close up.
  • Monday 29 November 2021 Art and DT We have been so busy in Glow Worm class this afternoon. The Year 1 children have turned into designers and engineers making different structures. They have used spaghetti and marshmallows to build strong structures. It linked really well with their trip to Lacock and maths learning.
  • Tuesday 23 November 2021 Great Fire and Balloon Globes! It is only Tuesday and already in Glow Worm class we have been really busy. The Year 1 children have had the opportunity to take part in a dance workshop pretending they were in the great fire. The scarves were wonderful to use. Whilst half the class were doing this the rest of the children were beginning to make their jam jar scenes using tissue paper and tea lights. You will be able to see the finished result when the children show you their Christmas crafts after their performance.
  • Thursday 18 November 2021 What a Week! Glow Worm class have been so busy this week. There has been so much going on. As part of the computing they Year 1 children have been making word banks about objects. They then used Numicon to find the difference followed by some Real Dance lessons. The Year 2 children joined with Beetle class and became young leaders. They had great fun getting out of the classroom.
  • Tuesday 9 November 2021 Year 1 Trip The Year 1 children should be exhausted after spending all day at Lacock. The trip linked well to their Science topic on materials and will move them on to their History topic starting on Monday.
  • Thursday 4 November 2021 A Busy Week This week the Year 1 Glow Worm children have been scientists by looking at lots of different materials.
  • Tuesday 19 October 2021 Year 1 Autumn Crafts This afternoon was the turn of the Year 1 children. We had lots of grown ups coming to share our craft activities. Here are some of the highlights.
  • Monday 18 October 2021 Construction! Thisafternoon the Year 2 Glow Worms constructed their cars using the designs in their books. They had to follow the instructions carefully and make sure their design matched their real car! We were lucky as we had some extra grown ups to help us!
  • Monday 18 October 2021 Motor Museum On Friday, the Year 2 Glow Worm children had a great time at the Haynes Motor Museum. The trip was to finish the topic on the history of cars. We look forward to seeing you at our parent event!
  • Thursday 14 October 2021 Autumn and Music The Year 2 children have been busy this week composing their own music.
  • Tuesday 12 October 2021 Investigating Axles This week the Year 2 Glow Worms have been looking at axles. They found the best materials to make the wheels move.
  • Wednesday 6 October 2021 Investigations and Colour Mixing This week the Year 2 children have been Scientists and have investigated the best material for a car tyre.
  • Monday 27 September 2021 Science and Art This afternoon as been as busy as always in Glow Worm class! The Year 2 children have been 'Learning Outside the Classroom'. They have been investigating different materials and why they are used for specific things. The children used some amazing vocabulary to describe the properties.
  • Wednesday 22 September 2021 Glow Worms Maths and Mapping! The Year 1 Glow Worms have been busy this week. They have been looking at using more and less than in maths and doing lots of talking as well as using apparatus! As part of their Geography topic they went to the Trim Trail and looked at the features of a map. they even managed to use a key!
  • Monday 20 September 2021 Henry Ford's Production Line As part of the Year 2 topic work they had a visit from Mr Simon. He let them look at his Jaguar car. They asked great questions and were able to talk about how cars have changed. Then they were introduced to Henry Ford and how he introduced a production line to mass produce the Model T! They then had a go at their own production line to see how quickly they could make a car! It was made from a playdough body, cheerio wheels, a pretzel steering wheel and currant headlights!
  • Thursday 16 September 2021 Circus Skills We were very lucky today to go to the Community Centre and take part in some circus skills activities. We had a go at plate spinning, wire walking, stilt walking and balancing peacock feathers. Most of all there was a lot of fun and laughter which was just what we all needed!
  • Tuesday 14 September 2021 Fun at the Beach Wow! Who would have thought that when we left Westbury this morning that we would need shorts, t-shirts and sun cream! They do say the sun shines on the righteous! Glow Worm Year 1 children had the most fantastic day. Sorry for the lack of photos but we were just having the BEST time! It was quite exhausting for some people!

  • Tuesday 7 September 2021 Welcome to Glow Worm Class It is only the first week and we have been really busy in Glow Worm class. We have been busy counting, getting to know our new friends and finding out about our new classroom!
