Friday 26th April

What a lovely week we have had!

On Tuesday we went to Noah's Ark Farm, where we were able to see some of the African animals that we have been learning about up close.  We saw zebras, giraffes, bears and their bear cubs, lions, eagles, rhinos, tortoises, elephants and many more.  We had a fantastic day watching all the animals but our absolute favourite was the elephant who came up close to us to eat.  In the afternoon we had a great time in the play park.

Over the rest of the week we have been reading a story about hunters and finding out how the African people try to protect the animals in national parks and game reserves to stop them from becoming endangered.  We worked together in our geography lessons to create our own national parks and we drew pictures of the Big Five (lions, leopards, rhinoceros, cape buffalo and elephants) to go in them.

In maths, we have been grouping objects and have been creating our own arrays.  We have also been looking at halves and quarters.

In the afternoons, we have worked together to make models and play games.  We have shown great turn taking and collaboration skills and our teachers are very proud of us.
